Established in 2003, Ivy Laine Studio has already worn a groove in the world of audio production and recording.
The studio, located in the lower east side of Toronto, was custom built by Jesse Laine, head producer and engineer.
In crafting the studio Jesse drew on his over fifteen years experience in music and sound construction to create a
natural space which can be flexibly adapted to the specific needs of different artists.
Jesse's distinctive understanding of acoustic space and sonic environments stems from his earlier career
as a professional pipe organ tuner and piano tuner. Also, his nine years as guitarist and songwriter with Toronto band,
Stone Soul Picnic, established his solid understanding of music production and artistic development.

After having firmly planted his pop/rock roots,
Jesse decided to branch out by studying Jazz in the
Humber College Music program.
Through this experience, Jesse developed connections with a diverse set of musicians in the city,
and he also established working relationships with veteran engineer/producers. Upon graduating as a keyboard major
(specializing in arranging, composing and performance), Jesse continued to make music, but his main impetus was to devote
himself to the art of sound recording. This resulted in the building of Ivy Laine Studio. The outcome is a warm,
intimate and excellently outfitted recording studio suitable for all types of music and sound production.

Ivy Laine is also the home of a varied collection of musical instruments. This collection happens to keep growing due
to Jesse's propensity for taking in stray instruments, and for his skill at restoring vintage gear to its true glory.
He also creates original compositions and arrangements for this diverse set of instruments. And, naturally,
the studio's three isolated sound rooms provide an excellent venue for all sound sources to be laid down with true presence and fidelity.
